LRH and Scientology

I am fascinated with Scientology.

No, I don’t need some intervention to stop me from starting the Bridge to Freedom, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, a hell of a lot of time and the scorn of the ratio al thinking.

I am fascinated by the fallacious life of L. Ron Hubbard, the pure evil of the religion, the accumulation of wealth through false pretences, and the slick publicity machine that makes a cult all look so enticing.

Let’s examine each individually.

LRH embellished details of his life to create a persona of genius; a true renaissance man. He used a boy’s own adventure style as a template for his own early life growing up on a ranch in Montana, becoming blood brothers with Indian tribes that did not do the blood brother thing, visiting the exotic Far East and learning of the very basis of life itself through ancient peoples. He was a heavily decorated war time hero, so he said, and began his own research into the very essence of existence, creating a technology to liberate man (he used this antiquated description right throughout his writings, interviews and lectures) and decided to make his self-help organisations into a religion. For tax purposes.

LRH was a paranoid man and spent a large part of his later life avoiding government officials and the tax man by hiding on a ship and later on land before dying in 1986. He left behind tons of materials all to better man (sic) and created a religion from the science fiction material he wrote earlier.

He was, I must add, quite brilliant.

LRH established a malicious religion of money replete with false promises and intimidation. Look up Fair Game and you’ll see what it was about. For years the Scientologists had a mask of helping people through special tech and achieving god-like status but the Internet ripped that mask off and the Church had to react through damage control that only created more headaches. Ex-Scientologists used web platforms to expose the violence and the manipulation they endured whilst working under a billion year contract. Movies, TV shows, endless vlogs, they all were stating the same thing about the current leadership of the litigious organisation- pure evil.

The courses to Freedom are not cheap, especially as a practising Scientologist goes up some metaphysical bridge to an end that was never really identified. Participants are audited using some weird little lie detector like machine that measures your engrams or thetans whilst copious amount of information is obtained from them, to be placed on file for future more sinister uses should a participant become Fair Game. This money is used for further promotion, buying advertising time during the Super Bowl and building lavish centres/ churches all over the world that, according to dissidents, are mainly empty.

Visit Scientology.org and view a 24 hour TV network made of heavily produced pieces on what they believe which is hard to pin down, how the cult has changed people’s lives and further false aspects of LRH’s life. Think of those awful mandatory corporate videos we all have had to watch at some time but with a lot more money at their disposal.  The Church inflates numbers to the point of comedy claiming it is the fastest growing religion in the world, has helped millions and has been awarded all sorts of honours. More lies it seems.

And I am not even going to mention Tom Cruise.

I find LRH quite brilliant at the very least; he created a bogus UFO religion based on pseudo-scientific ramblings that more learned folk have discredited and it continues to this day. Not many cults last that long though it has been built on abuse and delusional paranoia. Its vehemently anti-psychiatry and feeds itself on the belief that, as a victim of censorship and attack, it is a noble movement for religious freedom.

Rumour is it cannot sustain itself much longer with its empty real estate, poor publicity and a generation with information on the real LRH at hand.

Before it becomes a shitstorm that I would love to watch, I do hope a decent movie about LRH is made, exposing his life lies and highlighting the genius of such a narcistic false messiah of a man.
